Sýning um Grýlu í Laxdalshúsi
GRÝLA!
Næstkomandi laugardag (29. nóv.) kl. 14:30 mun opna í Laxdalshúsi á Akureyri sýning um Grýlu. Það er Þórarinn Blöndal sem hefur unnið sýninguna í samstarfi við Oddeyrarskóla. Hafa nemendur 2. 3. 4. og 5. bekkjar (smíðahópar) smíðað Grýlu og hennar hyski undir handleiðslu Brynhildar Kristinsdóttur smíðakennara og myndlistarkonu. Afraksturinn verður hluti af sýningu um Grýlu sem verður í jólamánuðinum í Laxdalshúsi. Ýmiskonar fróðleikur og myndir af henni verða til sýnis og hver veit nema hún verði þarna einhversstaðar í eigin persónu!

LISTAMANNASPJALL HLYNS HALLSSONAR Í HAFNARHÚSINU
SUNNUDAG 30. NÓVEMBER KL. 15:00
Sýning Hlyns Hallssonar hefur vakið óskipta athygli fjölmiðla og almennings en næstkomandi sunnudag mun Hlynur skoða sýninguna með gestum, segja frá tilurð hennar og fyrri verkum sínum. Stefnumótið við Hlyn hefst í Hafnarhúsinu kl. 15:00 en síðan verður gengið í verslanir og þjónustufyrirtæki sem taka þátt í sýningarverkefninu. Sýningin ber yfirskriftina ÚT / INN og er unnin í samstarfi við tuttugu þjónustufyrirtæki í miðbænum.
ÚT / INN
Sýning Hlyns felur í sér að sýna verk úr safneign Listasafns Reykjavíkur í nýju og óhefðbundnu umhverfi og á sama tíma að varpa nýju ljósi á viðtekna hluti allt í kringum okkur og stilla þeim upp sem safngripum innan veggja safnsins. Þannig færist safnið út til samfélagsins og samfélagið inn í safnið. Verkin sem Hlynur hefur valið úr safneigninni eru fjölbreytt; allt frá öndverðri síðustu öld til okkar daga og eru eftir listamenn allt frá Gunnlaugi Blöndal til Gjörningaklúbbsins. Sýningarstjóri er Ólöf K. Sigurðardóttir.

Heimkoman – málverkasýning Hjördísar Frímann
Hjördís Frímann opnar málverkasýningu í Festarkletti, efst í listagilinu á Akureyri, kl.15 laugardaginn 29. nóvember. Sýningin ber nafnið Heimkoman og vísar til þess að Hjördís er nýlega flutt á heimaslóðir á Akureyri. Hjördís vinnur með akrýl á striga og pappír og nýtir jafnan litaskalann til hins ýtrasta.
Hjördís Frímann, sem hingað til hefur verið þekkt fyrir fígúratívar ævintýramyndir, hefur nú söðlað um og sýnir málverk þar sem persónurnar hafa brugðið sér af bæ. Í tilraunaeldhúsi sínu kokkar Hjördís af innlifun upp nýja og spennandi rétti. Leik- og litagleði er meginuppistaðan og möguleikarnir virðast ótæmandi.
Sýningin er opin tvær helgar og lýkur því sunnudaginn 7. desember. Opnunartími um helgar frá 13 til 18 og virka daga frá 16 til 18 eða eftir samkomulagi.

Sjónauki, tímarit um myndlist, 3. tölublað komið út
Út er komið þriðja tölublað Sjónauka tímarits um myndlist. Tölublaðið ber titillinn Gildi / Value og hefur að geyma greinar, viðtöl og verk listamanna á íslensku og ensku. Listamaður blaðsins að þessu sinni er Ásmundur Ásmundsson og fylgir verk eftir hann með blaðinu; Mega Mix The Soundtrack of Our Lives, þar sem Ásmundur syngur af innlifun. Þeir Markús Þór Andrésson og Valur Brynjar Antonsson skrifa ítarlega texta um verk Ásmundar.
Meðal annars efnis er texti Walter Benjamin Kapítalismi sem trúarbrögð frá árinu 1921 í þýðingu Benedikts Hjartarsonar og Gauti Sigþórsson skrifar um reynslulist og miðlun hrifa í samtímanum. Viðtöl eru m.a. við Níels Hafstein í Safnasafninu á Svalbarðsströnd sem segir frá starfi sínu og kenningum og við Mariu Lind sýningarstjóra í New York.
Að þessu sinni er tímaritið prentað í svart hvítu.

List án landamæra 2009
Nú er undirbúningur hafinn fyrir List án landamæra 2009. Samstarfsaðilar í stjórn hátíðarinnar eru sem áður: Fjölmennt, fullorðinsfræðsla fatlaðra, Átak, félag fólks með þroskahömlun, Hitt húsið, Öryrkjabandalag Íslands og Landssamtökin Þroskahjálp.
Vilt þú vera með?
Hátíðin verður sett í Ráðhúsi Reykjavíkur síðasta vetrardag 22.apríl 2009 og mun standa fram í byrjun maí. Dagskráin er enn í mótun en meðal stærri atburða eru sýning í Listasal Mosfellsbæjar, sýningar og uppákomur í Norræna Húsinu, Handverksmarkaður og Geðveikt kaffihús, Gjörningur á vegum Átaks, Opnunarhátíð og samsýning í Ráðhúsi Reykjavíkur. Dagskrá verður jafnframt á Akureyri, Egilsstöðum, Vestmannaeyjum, Selfossi og fleiri stöðum á landsbyggðinni.
Ef að þú hefur áhuga á þátttöku eða þekkir einhvern sem gæti haft áhuga þá máttu gjarnan setja þig í samband við okkur. Bæði er hægt að taka þátt í einhverjum af þeim atburðum sem við erum með á dagskrá eða að koma með nýjan atburð inn í dagskrána.
Hátíðin er hugsuð sem samstarfsverkefni og því ræðst dagskráin af þátttakendum.
Hugmyndir að atburðum eru: Opin hús, litlar listasýningar, tónleikar og tónlistaflutningur, upplestur á eigin efni, þátttaka í samsýningum ,leiklistarviðburðum og svo mætti áfram telja. Við getum aðstoðað eftir þörfum við skipulag og að finna aðstöðu fyrir atburði.

This biennial prize offers publication of a book of photography, a
$3,000 award, and inclusion in a traveling exhibition of prizewinners.
Duke University Press will publish the book in association with CDS
Books of the Center for Documentary Studies. The prize, offered in

citizens of any age who have yet to publish a book-length work.

personally, locally, nationally, or internationally. The deadline for
the 25 UNDER 25 competition is April 28, 2006.

each resident a private room and studio, and meals. There are no fees

The MacDowell Colony

Located in Peterborough, New Hampshire, the MacDowell Colony is the
nation's leading artist colony. The Colony nurtures the arts by
offering creative individuals of the highest talent an inspiring
environment in which they can produce enduring works of the
imagination. The maximum length of residence is two months; an average
stay is four weeks. There are between 20 and 30 artists at MacDowell
at any given time. There are no residency fees at MacDowell; the
Colony is a not-for-profit institution funded mostly by contributions.
