Andrea er listamaður október mánaðar í gestavinnustofu Gilfélagsins.

“I am talking to you” new work by Andrea Krupp

The visual artist speaks in an encoded language that is transmitted through silence.

In this exhibition of work in progress (September-SIM, Reykjavik, October-Gilfelagid, Akureyri) Andrea presents her musings on the passage of time, the transmission of ideas that link us to the past and the future, and the impermanence of the present moment.

In her woodcuts, paintings and drawings, the Icelandic landscape becomes a symbol for time. Accretions and erosions play above and below the horizon. Unseen activity unfolds below the surface, and a depth of silence like no other suffuses every element. It is from inside this silence that Andrea talks to you, the viewer, and creates a space for contemplation of the human condition.
